Day 74

improper fractionsI have one particular student who is absolutely not afraid to ask questions–I love it!  He was truly baffled by his partner’s pair of equivalent improper fraction and mixed number.  “I get it, but I don’t get it!” He could tell me that both were equivalent to 2 and could explain how he knew that, but he was completely thrown because the improper fraction didn’t have the same denominator as the mixed number.

I can’t wait to share this pic with the whole class tomorrow and hear what the rest of them think.
