I thought it was very important to have students make the connection between Linear and Quadratics. So we looked at the similarities and differences between the two in 3 of the 4 representations (Graph, Table and Equation). We did not get to all 3 representations today but we have until Wed and then on Thursday they will be asked to compile the information into a little book (assessment). This is not actually a standard however I feel if they make connections here they will be able to see important pieces of linears (zeros, intercepts,slope, etc.) and make that connection to quadratics and see that there is not that much NEW things they are learning. But instead a new way to look at this concept. Kind of like expanding their knowledge bubble while including what they already know.
