We need to practice analyzing data and creating a line of best fit for data that is not linear (basically the real-world). Everything that I have given them so far has been linear so they are used to instantly recognizing the pattern. My co-teacher came to class today with a year’s worth of their mile run times from PE class. They each wrote down their data from the sheets posted on the board. We are going to use this data to start our scatterplot and creating our line of best fit. They are excited to figure this out considering their mile run times affect their grade for PE and they all are trying to beat each other’s times.
