Day 52: Assessment Final Products

Some examples of the assessment final products students completed today.  We cut them up and compiled them according to representation (all the tables in one pile, graphs, etc.).  I shuffled the piles and we started with Situation.  The objective was to explain HOW they figure out the slope and y-intercept when give just the situation.  So not only were they required to figure out the slope and y-intercept of the situation they were given but they have to describe HOW THEY FIGURED IT OUT!  Overheard comments (which I LOVE): 

"Ok so you're serious…this is hard???!!!"

"It doesn't matter if I get my same card because I have to EXPLAIN how I got my answer"

"Huh, so you mean I have to write about it?"

"Ok I got it, the slope and y-intercept.  WHAT?!  you mean I have to explain it?"
