The MAGIC begins!

We started our unit on linear equations with our magic tricks.  This is the second year  have used these and I continue to find success in getting students to WANT to solve the number someone picked (unknown).  They used whiteboards (YEAH!!) to practice tricks informally and students already had good strategies to keep track of their thinking.  What they wrote on the boards were what THEY had to do (BACKWARDS AND OPPOSITE) in order to guess their partner’s number.
